Let's Play / Physical Lifelong Activity for Youth Workshop / Okmulgee, OK / Dec. 9-10, 2014

In early Dec. I presented a workshop for the "Let's Play" Group in Okmulgee, OK. "Physical and Lifelong Activity for Youth = PLAY.
What a great time I had with the 77 area PE teachers and other educators from around Oklahoma.
Curt Hinson, Ph.D. presented the 1st day of the training and I was there for the 2nd day.
My workshop was "The Cultural Playground." Many thanks go to Scott Robinson for the invitation and for keeping Oklahoma kids moving.

Testimonial
H.F.V Wilson Community Center / OKLAHOMA
Summer 2013

“My staff absolutely loved your training. You were so energetic and fun! All day I heard laughter, chanting and fun coming from the auditorium. Every single one of them was engaged and had a smile on their face. Throughout the day on breaks, I would see the staff practicing their string tricks. It is the 2nd day of Sports Camp and when the kids need a break, my staff is showing them string tricks and playing games with them. We are providing the information for each counselor and they are excitingly waiting for it! I truly feel that this is information they can use throughout summer and can take with them for future careers.”

Mike Spiller of Games of the World has been an instrumental tool for my camp staff training for years.
Mike makes playing and teaching games to my staff fun and easy.
This training has translated into endless games, ideas and tools we use every year at Camp Paseo.
I have always been amazed how quickly my staff buys in to what Mike is trying to communicate to them annually.
A big thank you to Mike Spiller for his continued positive influence on Camp Paseo.

Testimonial from Brad Boleman / Speaker at MNHAPERD Conference in Minnesota

Good morning.  It was great talking to you about equipment and games.  I presented before you at MNAHPERD.  I wanted to send you a testimonial about why I started making equipment and using them in my games. I went to one of your workshops about 10 years ago in Brooklyn Center or Brooklyn Park called Games of the World.  I was inspired after the workshop.  Not only did I buy one of your books but I also used some of your ideas for my Masters Project through St. Mary’s University.  I have been using some of your games in my class (Achi is one of my favorite games to play).  A light bulb went off in my head on how I can create equipment in my PE classes to help my school offset the costs of things.  I have presented at many different conferences in Minnesota and through many University’s Graduate courses to give my “expertise” in cost effective equipment for schools and Physical Education Teachers.  I am always looking at things and trying to figure out ways that I can create this piece of equipment and how I could use them in a game.  You have inspired me to keep doing what I am doing and I enjoy every minute of it.  I am glad we got to talk about equipment and games that we both have done.
Thank you so much for all the great ideas that you have given to me and so many other people.  This is why I keep doing what I enjoy to do because of your great ideas and energy.

Brad Boleman / Valley View Elementary PE Teacher
